![]() right click the file and install.ĥ) Soft Proof and Edit the image using your monitor profile and the Costco printer profile.ĥ) Convert the image for the printer profileĦ) Turn of Auto Correct off for your order or in your Costco Account profile. I use ACDSee.Ĥ) Are you using the Costco Printer Profile? You'll find a link, 'printer profile' at the bottom of the Costco Photo page. I use ACDSee and PaintShop Pro X4.ģ) You'll need a product that will convert the current image to the printer profile. Apply the calibrated monitor profile to Windows 7.Ģ) You'll need a product that does Soft Proofing. I can only give suggestions for Windows, can't comment on Mac since I don't have one.ġ) Do you have your monitor calibrated? I used X-rite i1Display Pro, but any monitor calibration is better than none at all. I've had this issue just recently and got it finally resolved. I really do hope that this isn't common quality for them.ĭisclaimer: I'm really new to all this, but here goes. I also like the fact that I don't have to pay shipping (I drive by one often) every time I want some pictures printed. I really like Costco's pricing and selection. I printed out some of the same pictures on my home printer using some Epson Semi Gloss paper and the pictures looked a lot better. I don't think it was anything on my end, but I'm not ruling it out. So in the opinion of those more experienced with Luster paper and Costco's printing services, is this human error? Or is this how luster paper works? Does luster paper darken images and make them appear a little less sharp? I did select the "do not modify photos" option (I've seen this recommended on this forum before). ![]() I have previously only used Gloss, and Matte from Mpix (really liked the quality) and Wal-Mart (doesn't look anything like matte to me.)Ģ) Blurry (like if the paint was slightly smeared)ģ) Had over-saturated colors that weren't in the original file. My experience with printing photos is limited to printing from my home printer or ordering from Mpix, and Wal-Mart. I've never had my pictures come out with so many issues but I don't know if it was because of something the tech did or if it was the luster paper and I just don't know how luster paper affects prints. So I finally got around to trying out Costco's printing services and I don't know if they did something wrong, or if it was the luster paper (this was my first time using luster paper).
